Welcome to the Forest Knolls Elementary Parent Teacher Association!
Our PTA is an active part of FKES, responsible for bringing countless programs to our students and enriching their elementary school days.
The FKES PTA has established two goals for 2009-2010 — membership and outreach.
- This year we hope to focus on reaching out to the larger school community and encouraging a sense of volunteerism and involvement with the programs and children of FKES.
- With higher membership, we aim to increase the clout we have as an organization at the local, state, and national level when advocating for our children.
- With carefully planned family oriented programming, we hope to infuse every part of FKES with a feeling of community, family, and cooperation.
As we all know, when parents and families are involved, our children benefit.
We hope you take the opportunity to become involved in the FKES PTA and make a difference in the life of your child and the children in your community. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact us… together we can be the change we want to see in our school!
This week’s news…
June 1 through 6…
WHAT A PTA MEETING!
Thank you to all of you that took the time last night to make it to one of the most productive meetings ever attended!
Last night’s PTA meeting began with a little socializing and drinks and then in record time we approved the 2010-2011 Calendar and Budget and elected a new Executive Board!
I am extremely pleased to announce the new Executive Board for the 2010-2011 PTA:
President: Hugh Dennis
Vice-President: Renee Hutchins
Secretary: Alison Petersen
Treasurer: Uli Nasshan
What a great year it is going to be! Please make sure to offer a great welcome to this wonderful team.
GETTING READY FOR A NEW YEAR!
If you are a “new” family to FKES… welcome! There will be a summer packet coming to your home this summer with all things FKES… in the meantime, check out our PTA website for more information on how to become a member, which committee to join, our Direct Donation Campaign, and even future Kindergarten playdates over the summer! You may also wish to join the FKES Listserv. This Listserv is not moderated by the PTA, but is nevertheless, a good source of information and a place to send out your questions for answers. Register by going to: http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/fkes/
And again, welcome! We can’t wait to have you join the FKES PTA!
