Hispanic Heritage Month: Zumba!

Have you heard about Zumba? It’s everywhere! In the mid 1990s, fitness trainer, “Beto” Perez, came up with Latin inspired fitness in his native country of Colombia.  “One day, he walked into his class and realized that he had forgotten his aerobics music, and his only option was to grab whatever tapes he had in his car. Beto’s tapes were comprised of the songs that he loved,” traditional Latin salsa and merengue music.  He improvised a whole class on the spot! In 1999, Beto brought his new aerobic dance program to Miami and we have been Zumba ‘ing since!
