Grandparents and Special Friends Day

What: Grandparents and Special Friends Day has been a tradition at FKES for over 25 years. Its outreach to the community, inviting the older generation to come and spend a few hours in an elementary school.  It is important for the younger generation to interact with an older generation. Some children do not have the opportunity to visit with their grandparents; this event allows grandparents to be shared among classmates.

Needed:  Volunteers are needed to donate food, and help on the day of the event with signing in and out of visitors, taking photos, picking up coffee, providing musical entertainment, interpretation, and escorting visitors from classrooms to the photo shoot.

When:  Busy time is from end of January to the day of the event.
