Foreign Languages in the Elementary Schools

What: We offer before or after school classes in Spanish, French, and/or Chinese. These classes enrich the study of history and geography, can enrich the International Night celebration of our school’s diversity and will provide a path to entering language study at a higher level in middle school.

Thursday 7:55am-8:40am. Introductory Spanish–for kindergarten and 1st grade students. Story-telling, singing and dancing in Spanish


Thursday 3:10pm-4:10pm. Intermediate Spanish–This is for 3rd graders to 5th graders continuing the academic study of Spanish. If you took Beginning Spanish last year, this is the class for you!

Tuesday 7:40am-8:40am. Advanced Spanish–This is for 3rd graders to 5th graders continuing the academic study of Spanish. If you took Intermediate last year (or got an invite from Dalia Claros, the teacher), this is the class for you!

Thursday 3:10pm- 4:10pm. Beginner Spanish– This is for 2nd graders to 5 graders beginning the academic study of Spanish. Your child can take this whether or not they have had the Kindergarten/1rst grade level.
